You'll still be able to track charge levels and other information with the two built-in tri-color RGB LEDs, trigger events and scripts with the three programmable buttons, and since the PiJuice will use up to five of your GPIO pins (just power and I2C), the rest is free to diversify your project. Compatible with any on-board 4-pin battery that can be used with AVX battery contacts 00-9155-004-742-006, including BP7X, BP6X and all compatible batteries including CameronSino 1600mAh and 2300mAh batteries (CS-MOA853SL and CS -MOA855XL)
There is a built-in 4-pin screw terminal block for larger off-board batteries. Any LiPo / LiIon cell is compatible. However, you use your own battery at your own risk. We strongly recommend using a battery with an internal protection circuit and an NTC (temperature sensor)

Output amperage - maximum current at 5V gpio is 2.5A and at VSYS output 2.1A, but this also depends strongly on the capacity of the battery. For BP7X measured around 1.1A at 5V GPIO and around 1.6A at VSYS output. Obviously, this also strongly depends on the current draw required by the Raspberry Pi / device itself. To reach a maximum of 2.5A, you will need a battery of more than 3500 mAh.

Très bon produit pour alimenter et onduler le Pi sans soucis, très complémentaire au Pi avec une gestion de batterie complète et des possibilité de script supplémentaires pour automatiser certaines situations. Seul gros bémol de conception c'est les plastiques de maintien de la batterie qui sont fragiles et surtout qui rendent systématiquement difficile le montage d'un Hat supplémentaire en partageant les mêmes trous de maintien du Pi et autres cartes en rajoutant une épaisseur intermédiaire qui ne correspond à aucune entretoise...

Parfait pour ajouter un petit onduleur à un Pi (~1h d'autonomie sur un Pi 4 moyennement chargé) sans avoir besoin de câble. Petite astuce si vous comptez utiliser l'interface CLI pour gérer le PiJuice depuis le compte root : il faut ajouter root dans le groupe i2c sudo usermod -a -G i2c root puis rebooter
