With this shield, you can now connect your MKR board to any industrial system using the RS485 protocol. The MKR 485 shield is the ultimate extension that allows MKR boards to connect to almost any legacy industrial system, such as PLCs, controllers, drives and HMIs. Legacy industrial systems (e.g., machines, heating systems, and conveyors) can be transformed into IoT devices via a serial connection using the MKR 485. The shield is based on the MAXIM MAX3157 (datasheet) and provides half duplex / half duplex. Standard operating mode: Half Duplex
