Using the oven
Before using this solar oven, make sure that the weather forecast is for a sunny day, and use the oven at the sun's zenith (i.e. at noon). With the horizon, the angle of the glass is 45°, which is ideal for use in spring and fall in the metropolitan area. Depending on the season, the sun rises more or less high. The angle of the sun with the horizon can be calculated with this calculator. For example, for a use in winter with an angle of the sun with the horizon of 25°, you will have to raise the two back legs of the oven of 20° (=45-25) so that the glass of the oven is placed at the perpendicular with regard to the rays of the sun. In summer, you will need to raise the front legs. The oven will reach its maximum temperature after about 30 minutes.
Caution: Maximum precautions to be taken during use: do not touch the black container plate, and avoid opening the door to limit heat loss.
