The CHIPI-X10 is a USB to UART Full Handshake cable at RS232 level with FT231X USB UART and RS232 FT3243S transceiver. It uses a minimum number of components for a basic USB to RS232 converter designed using the FT231XS chip combined with an RS-232 level converter and some capacitors.
Chipi-X10 is CE and FCC approved and is one of the simplest solutions for converting from USB to RS232. Using a DB9 connector and being powered by a USB port, the Chipi-X10 converter can be used with FTDI's VCP drivers to provide a COM port on a PC capable of communication rates with RS232 devices from 300baud to 250kBaud. The Chipi - X10 comes with a sculpted white matte plastic case equipped, which covers the electronics inside.

- Royalty-free VCP and D2XX drivers eliminate the need to develop a USB driver in most cases
- UART interface for 7 or 8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits and even/odd/mark/space/zero parity
- Fully supported hardware or X-On / X-Off software sync
- 512 byte receive buffer and 512 byte transmit buffer using buffer smoothing technology
- Receiver buffer with adjustable time delays
- Low USB operating and standby current
- Low USB bandwidth consumption
- USB 2.0 full speed compatible
- Free upward tab
- Built-in MTP-ROM to store USB VID, PID, serial number and product description
