Local monitoring
The Pi-KVM software allows you to transform a Raspberry Pi 4 into a remote control. Locally, the Raspberry Pi is connected to the computer to be controlled, it receives the image from the monitor and emulates a mouse and a keyboard... The signals are then made accessible via the Internet by the PiKVM software running on the Raspberry Pi. On the remote machine side, only a web browser is required. PiKVM offers you a very low video latency of about ~100 milliseconds: this is the lowest observed delay of all existing solutions on the market!
OpenSource software
PiKVM is a free and open source software released under the GPLv3. Designed as a set of microservices with a plug-in architecture, it is therefore very easy to modify and update. Everything that can be done via the user interface can also be done via an HTTP API. The MJPG video server is written in C and supports multithreading and GPU video encoding. It is the fastest streaming solution available, which will provide the best video quality for PiKVM. PiKVM analyzes the status of the card Raspberry Pi and warns you if the temperature is rising or if it is not getting enough power.
